ABOUT 日本にほんのはる

In Japan, はる lasts from March to May. As temperatures gradually rise, the snow melts and a variety of flowers begin to bloom. The cherry blossoms everyone looks forward to starts to bloom from the south to the north of the country, reaching full bloom and falling within just two weeks.

At school, graduation ceremonies are held in March and entrance ceremonies in April, making this a season of both farewells and new beginnings. In the new school year, children energetically enjoy their studies and sports with new friends.

In this flipbook, you will see several typical images of spring in Japan. As you go through it, think about what はる in Japan is like.
